Appointments

Lake 01983 408408

All our surgeries are by appointment. We have morning appointments at both surgeries. If you have an urgent new medical problem you can be seen on the same day. For less urgent problems we will endeavour to provide an appointment for you within 48 hours with a doctor or nurse if appropriate, although not necessarily the doctor of your choice. We try to provide an appointment with a doctor of your choice within 2 weeks.

You can contact the Brading surgery between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday – Brading Surgery will answer all calls when our branch surgery at Lake is closed. Please see the practice timetable for opening times at Lake.  You are able to see the doctors and nurses at either surgery as both surgeries are able to access your electronic medical record.

PLEASE REMEMBER A STANDARD APPOINTMENT IS FOR 10 MINUTES, PLEASE CONSIDER BOOKING A DOUBLE APPOINTMENT  IF YOU HAVE A LIST OF CONCERNS.

Accidents & Minor Injuries

We are happy to assess and if appropiate treat any minor injury. You will be seen as soon as possible with an expected waiting time of no more than two hours. This compares favourably with the waiting times at the Accident and Emergency Department.  We are not a “999” service and any serious or potentially disabling or life threatening conditions should be managed by dialling for an ambulance or by going directly to the Accident and Emergency Department at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.

Telephone Advice

When urgent, doctors are available for advice at any time but it helps not to interrupt surgeries and clinics too often. If the doctor cannot speak to you directly we will call you back. Please check that we have your telephone number, especially those of you who are ex-directory. It can be helpful if we can get in touch with you to discuss results and tests.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
